Re: Win for ISDRA
14 YEARS IN THE MAKING - COURT DECISION WILL EVENTUALLY RE-OPEN DUNES
The following press release has been issued by attorneys who represent the American Sand Association (aSa). Yesterday's historic ruling by Judge Illston upholds a quality balance between recreation and resource protection in the Imperial Sand Dunes Recreation Area (ISDRA). The aSa would like to thank the Bureau of Land Management, U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service and the Court for taking the time to understand the facts and realities of public land management and endangered species protection at the ISDRA. Their diligent and vigilant efforts resulted in this fair and positive outcome.
As we partner with the Bureau of Land Management on an implementation plan, we ask that you continue to stay out of the closed areas until which time the stakes are removed.
