TV on Gecko

Post by chino350 »

Hi all! New to the site but have been lurking for some time. Quick question, is there any antenna TV viewable when camped on Gecko road? Might be nice to see some news. Thanks in advance!

Welcome to the board chino350!

On Wash Rd, you can get 3 english speaking channels and about 10 spanish channels with rabbitt ears.
Gecko Rd is in a weird location, cell signals & radio signals don't go there. :?

From RR you could get a FOX and a CBS affiliate (out of Yuma/El Centro) and a spanish ABC affiliate, if I remember correctly. Satellite comes in fine.

I am always able to get cell coverage from Verison, in the MH. Computer coverage is spotty and can require a climb on the top of the coach.

With a new TV or a digital conversion box you should be able to get quite a few digital stations. Most of the transmitters in this area on top of Black Mt. That's the high peak to the east of the dunes with all the lights on top.

Rabbit ears probably won't cut it. But I use a $15 antenna I got off ebay from here in Yuma and can get them with about 80% signal strength so it should be even easier from the dunes were you can actually see the transmitter antenna.
