Glamis, California -- 2 people have died after separate accidents near the Glamis dunes this weekend.

The first happened just after 5:00 PM on Friday when 49 year old Edgar Hecht of Germany was riding a 4 wheeler in the dunes.

Hecht lost control of the vehicle, which rolled several times.

Even though Hecht was wearing a helmet, he suffered major head injuries and died on the scene.

Then on Saturday, 2 vehicles collided near Heber Road when they crashed into each other, killing 44 year old Martha Arroyo from Holtville who was a passenger in one vehicle.

The cause of that crash is still under investigation.

Two fatal weekend accidents in Glamis
I was at Glamis that weekend and there were no fatalities to my knowledge. I spoke to Rusty Massie, volunteer EMT at Glamis, and he said it had been very quiet. Is not Heber Road at or near Heber Dunes. Is Glamis being used as a generalization for all the dunes?
The real egalitarians are not the people who want to redistribute wealth to the poor, but those who want to extend to the poor the ability to create their own wealth, to lift themselves up, instead of trying to tear others down. Earning respect, including self-respect, is better than being a parasite. Thomas Sowell
