working on BBQ

Post by scammer »

probably a basic question, i need to bend front of a BBQ back into place, it over heated. so i am thinking i could heat up with a propane torch or with coals from campfire. then simply push back or torque with a long clamp.
is this reasonable.
thanks

If you think it'll work try it, if it doesn't try something else. Pics?

If is sheet metal and it has buckled, especially stainless, it's done. More heat will make it worse. If it is heavy stock, heat it up, if that's what it takes, and bend it back to shape. As Chuck said, some pics. Also, there are ways to bend metal without marring it........pics and some of us may be able to help.
